The true sequel to battlefield 1943 is available on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network for 1200ms points/15 Dollars/13 Euro/10 Pounds. It's the first game of its type release on Arcade, it has the graphics of a full game with no single player like Battlefield 1942 on the PC.

Gameplay 9/10 - Gameplay is execellent in BF1943, All vehicles are drivable including Jeeps, Tanks, Boats, Fighter Aircraft including a controllable bomber squadron for both sides that can be accessed from an air command bunker. There are also various mounted weapons that can be accessed like Machine guns, Anti Aircraft cannons and various guns planted on Jeeps and Tanks that can be used by a second player while you are driving. Also both teams have Aircraft carriers from which Fighter aircraft and Boats can be launched from, you can defend the carrier with placed anti aircraft.

Weapons 8/10 - There are three classes in BF1943, Rifle man (Long ranged infantry) Infantry (Sub machine gunner) and Sniper (Self explanatory) all three carry a pistol with secondary abilities.

Rifle man - The rifle mans secondary ability is a rifle launched grenade with decent effectiveness with practice also a bayonette can be used at the cost of your aim (Zoom) function in close combat.

Infantry - The infantry carries an Anti-tank recoilless rifle (Rocket launcher) and a spanner that can be used to repair vehicles.

Sniper - The sniper carries satchel charges that can be stratigically placed in doorways and paths infantry use or to cover your back when sniping.

All classes carry grenades.

Maps 9/10 - There are four maps in BF1943, all island maps from Battlefield 1942.

Coral sea - Coral sea is an Air superiority map which is basically a big dogfight to control the centre of the map, this map is execellent to get the hang of the aircraft in the game.

Wake Island - Wake island is an infantry/vehicle map with various places to capture.

Guadalcanal - Guadalcanal is also an infantry/vehicle map with hilly terrain, great fun.

Iwo Jima - Iwo jima is the last map of the game which is also infantry/vehicle based, Iwo Jima saw some of the fiercest fighting in WW2 so expect this in-game!

All maps have aircraft carrier abilities.

You can choose between Japan imperial army and the US Marines both sides equally balanced ofcourse. With Japanese soldiers having a Katana sword (Samurai sword) instead of the US Marine knife as last resort. The game is 565mb and I recommend it for fans of the Battlefield series.
